Since 1979, the TRD has been responsible for improving street cars for better performance and supporting Toyota's racing and motorsport interests around the world - from the deserts of Baja to the super-speedways of NASCAR. Toyota has taken everything they've learned on the track and applied it to the already high-performance Tacoma. Exciting features like Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control, Fox suspension, plus a Panoramic Multi-Terrain View Monitor allow the Tacoma TRD Pro to take you across terrain that other trucks could only dream of treading.
Off-Road to the Races
The all-new Tacoma TRD Pro is moving off the track and heading towards the road less travelled. Multi-Terrain Select lets you choose between five different modes for improved traction on a variety of surfaces, from desert trails to the Rocky Mountains. Meanwhile, Crawl Control automatically controls the traction and speed of each wheel so that you can focus on navigating the course up ahead.
With a heavy-duty Fox suspension, you’ll find a double-wishbone system with coil springs, Bilstein shocks, gas shock absorbers, plus a stabilizer bar at the front and multi-leaf springs in the rear. In place of the Bilsteins, TRD Sport models add sport-tuned gas shocks. Whether you expect to frequent potholes or plan to hit the trails, the Tacoma TRD's suspension has got you covered. The all-new Multi-Terrain View Monitor provides an underfloor view that lets you better navigate challenging conditions with ease.
Even with all these exciting off-roading features, we can't forget Tacoma's impressive towing capacity of up to 6,500 lbs - not to mention an available towing package that includes a Class IV hitch, 7-pin wire harness, and Trailer Sway Control. But this pickup has more than just power to offer. Thanks to innovative engine technologies like Variable Valve Timing, Sequential Multiport Electronic Fuel Injection, and an Electronic Throttle Control System, it's also impressively fuel efficient! It drips as low as 13.0/10.5 L per 100 km (City/Hwy), allowing you to get the most out of your adventures wherever they take you!

The Tacoma TRD also comes equipped with 8 dual-stage, front-seat-mounted, roll-sensing, and knee airbags. You also have the option to upgrade with the available Blind Spot Monitor and Automatic Slip Grip Differential, which engages the traction control system to help control wheel spin.
