In BC, most vehicles driving on most highways are required to have winter tires from October 1 through to March 31. With that being said, sometimes they’re needed sooner and sometimes they have to stay on longer. Once temperatures start to drop, the air pressure in your tires changes. This typically makes them less able to grip and remain firm when losing traction. The firmness of your tires also changes with the temperature, and certain tires are rated for better performances during these times.
