Safety Features
Only Toyota vehicles are equipped with Toyota Safety Sense. On the 2018/2019 Rav4, this means that you’re treated to backup cameras, adaptive cruise control, a pre-collision system, radar-based pedestrian detection and braking assist, lane trace assist, rear cross traffic alert, parking assist, automatic high beams, lane departure alert and steering assist. On top of all that, you’ll find the STAR safety system that includes important features like anti-lock braking and traction control.
When you compare this to the Santa Fe, it might feel a little bit dated. You’ll still have a backup camera, but no Safety Sense. You’ll find smart cruise control that can’t compare, and you have to upgrade to the highest trim level to obtain features like lane departure warning. With Toyota, the most important safety features come standard. There’s nothing more important than protecting your family.
Technology
While we will admit, Hyundai has been making progress with technology, nothing beats ours. In the 2019 Rav4, you’ll find Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and touchscreens of up to 8”. Both vehicles offer navigation, but only the Rav4 will connect you to your home with HomeLink; control your garage door, front gate, home security, and more. You’ll also be treated to Entune technology and Toyota App Suite. You’ll be fully connected without breaking a sweat.
You’ll also get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with the Santa Fe, but for Apple lovers, the Rav4 will also treat you to Siri Eyes-Free technology that allows you to interact with your phone without looking away from the road.
